Awakening the Power of Meditation

In this free, live workshop, you will:

  • Practice with instructions that point your attention at recognizing and resting as the awakened Awareness behind your mental events. This is Awareness is always here, already and simply clouded by mental events.
  • Feel the difference between Awareness and the stream mental events that usually run the show and hijack your attention.
  • Receive important tips for entering and deepening meditation with greater ease, grace and velocity.
  • Sit for guided meditation offered as a living transmission, not a technique to collect
  • Experience how practice deepens when you meditate together, inside a shared field with the global community.
  • Bring what you notice into a live Q&A with Scott to deepen clarity and sharpen your practice.
  • Receive the replay, provided to everyone who registers.

What is Awakening the
Power of Meditation?

Awaking the Power of Meditation is a special free workshop guiding you through powerful practices that lead to deepening or beginning a transformative meditation practice you love.

Awakened Awareness is the true power of meditation. It is already here and everywhere and goes unnoticed due to the clouds of mental events.  With skillful guidance applied to practice, you come to recognize this Awareness more quickly and more consistently.

This is not a path of becoming someone new. It is a chance to taste the living meditation practice at the heart of a new practice journey called AWAKE: the power of a living meditation practice — and to feel, in your own experience, the growth and transformation that come with recognizing the boundless Awareness already within.

A single powerful sit can open a door. What carries you through it is cultivation: a practice you return to, that deepens as you grow, and that you learn to bring into ordinary life. This workshop is that taste. Guided meditation, a short discussion, and time for your questions.

What you will experience

You will practice in an upright, relaxed posture. A chair is recommended unless you are used to sitting on the floor. You can change your seat whenever you need to.

Scott will open with a simple intention for the sit and a little context for how to approach it, then guide the meditation. Along the way he will speak to the difference between Awareness and mental events — the clouds, and the sun that is already shining whether the clouds are there or not — and to what it means for practice to become a way of living rather than a peak you visit and leave.

Scott will also give time-saving tips for entering and deepening meditation practice that leads to recognizing, stabilizing and living from awakened Awareness with greater depth and duration.

After the sit, there is time to talk about what you noticed. Q&A follows, so you can ask about the practice itself.

You do not need to be experienced, and you do not need to be a scholar. Come as you are. If you have tasted something real in meditation and want it to last beyond the sit — or if you simply want to begin a practice with some depth — you are in the right room.

Scott Schwenk

Scott has spent decades in living relationship with tantric meditation traditions, including years of residential study in a meditation monastery, and more than thirty years guiding others into direct recognition and embodiment of their innate wholeness.

Scott cross-trained and continues deepening in several streams of meditative practice which include Trika Shaivism, Sri Vidya and Mahamudra.

His teaching is practical, grounded and light-hearted, rooted in the power of lineage without being precious, and uninterested in the performance of spirituality. Students come for a method. They stay because something actually moves — in awareness, in the body, in the life they have to live on Monday.
